Uploading to Your FABA Storyteller™

Follow these simple steps to add your story to FABA Storyteller™

1

Install BlackHole Audio Driver (One-Time Setup)

Download and install BlackHole from existential.audio/blackhole. This free tool routes audio between apps on your Mac.

Tip: BlackHole is open-source and safe. Choose the 2-channel version for simplicity.

2

Create a Multi-Output Device

Open Audio MIDI Setup (built into macOS). Click "+" and create a Multi-Output Device. Check both "BlackHole 2ch" and your speakers/headphones.

Tip: This lets you hear the audio while also capturing it for FABA.

3

Set Multi-Output as System Audio

Go to System Settings → Sound → Output and select your new Multi-Output Device as the default output.

4

Open MyFABA App and Start Recording

In the MyFABA app, go to your FABA Me figure, tap "Add New Track" → "Record". The app will use your Mac's microphone input.

Tip: In System Settings → Sound → Input, select "BlackHole 2ch" as your input device.

5

Play Your Fablino Story

With recording active in MyFABA, play your downloaded Fablino story in any audio player. The audio routes through BlackHole into the FABA recording.

Tip: Play the story at normal speed—the full story will be captured in real-time.

6

Save and Sync

Stop the recording in MyFABA when the story ends. Give it a title, save, and sync your FABA Me figure. Place it on your FABA Storyteller to play!

Pro Tips for FABA Storyteller™

  • 1
This workaround uses the FABA Me "recording" feature—you're essentially playing audio into their recorder.
  • 2
For best quality, ensure no other sounds play during recording (mute notifications).
  • 3
Windows users: Look into VB-Audio Virtual Cable as an alternative to BlackHole.
  • 4
Each FABA Me figure can store multiple recordings. Organize by theme.
